Can we just talk about the cover? Or rather, can we all just stare at it? When I first saw the cover I was immediately drawn in. The coloring and contrast are perfect, and those eyes!! Wow.
Something about this book was a little Harry Potter meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer to me, well obviously more on the Buffy side. After I finished reading The Bellum Prophecy, I sat there and wondered what it would be like if this was made into a show.
So what did I like? Everything! I liked L. Marie Horton’s use of description for all the action that took place. But most importantly I love Edyn. She’s such a strong independent character. Is there anything I didn’t like? Minor things, the book started off slow and it took me a couple of pages to really get into this book. Another thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the vampire-human relationship between Edyn and Brendan. I don’t want to say it felt forced but it didn’t seem like it flowed naturally to me.
This was an intriguing book that I’m 100% sure will lead into an intense and captivating series. I can’t wait to read the next book!

"The pain in my chest became intense as my heart felt like it was being ripped apart. The tears were coming so fast that they blinded me. The pit in my stomach was overwhelming as blood and death surrounded me. I couldn't breathe."
"I will have my vengeance."
